Particular Engineering

Brief / Brand identity and website design for an innovative air pollution solution provider for the coal and mining industry, aiming to differentiate themselves from global giants through targeted, professional digital positioning.

Project details / Particular Engineering emerged from 15 years of research addressing critical air pollution challenges in the mining industry. The project uniquely involved developing the brand identity and website simultaneously, which presented complex challenges as we collectively learned how to effectively communicate and sell the brand.

Working collaboratively, we created a comprehensive visual and digital strategy that included custom iconography, strategic typography, and a carefully developed color palette. The process was dynamic and iterative, with the husband and wife team, the technical experts, and myself working together to unpack the nuances of their innovative technology and market positioning.

The compressed timeline demanded agility and creativity, transforming a small innovative company's vision into a professional, compelling brand ready to compete with industry giants. Every design decision was a careful balance of technical precision and strategic storytelling.

What I loved about the project / What made this project truly exciting was the collaborative journey of discovery. Working with a husband and wife team from diverse backgrounds - military project management and accounting - we navigated the complex technical landscape together. Their openness to exploration and commitment to solving a critical industry problem was inspiring. Each meeting was a learning experience, unpacking the nuanced technical details of their revolutionary air pollution solutions. Helping a small, passionate team develop a brand identity that could stand toe-to-toe with industry giants was not just a design project, but a mission to promote worker safety and operational excellence.
